Eyelashes grow in a cycle and shed naturally, just like the hairs on your head. Do not be alarmed if some of your extensions fall out quickly, they were most likely attached to lashes at the end of their cycle. The following steps must be followed to maintain the health and sanitation of your new eyelash extensions.

  • For the first 24 hours after your appointment, do not get your lashes wet. Avoid saunas, steam rooms, pools & wearing makeup.

  • Once 24 hours have passed, cleanse your face and eyes daily using an oil-free foaming cleanser. The foaming action helps to release dirt and debris between your lashes without the damaging effect of rubbing or scrubbing your eyes.

  • Do not rub or scrub your eyes. Use cotton pads or q-tips soaked in oil-free makeup remover and gently work around the extensions to remove any eye makeup.

  • Do not use any type of mascara on your eyelash extensions. The oils in mascaras break down the adhesive and cause your extensions to prematurely shed. Removing mascara from your extensions can damage them.

  • Do not use eyelash curlers on your eyelashes and do not perm or tint your extensions.

  • Never pull your eyelash extensions off as it will pull out your natural eyelash. If you want them removed contact Alluring Lengths Lash Studio for our professional eyelash removal service.

  • Do not subject your lashes to excessive heat. This includes heat from ovens, stovetops, hot tubs, vehicle vents and hot showers. Heat can manipulate the shape/curl of your extensions and cause them to go straight.

  • Do not subject your lashes to freezing temperatures, the cold can make the adhesive brittle which may cause your extensions to prematurely shed.

Useful Tips

A few useful tips to help you get the best life out of your new eyelash extensions:

  1. After you shower you can gently dry & shape your eyelashes using your hair dryer on the cold or lowest setting. Hold the dryer at least 10 inches below your face and gently coax the eyelashes with your index finger in an upward motion until they are dry.

  2. When you shower, keep a towel in easy reach so that you can gently pat your eyes between washing and conditioning your hair. This saves you from unnecessarily rubbing your eyes.
